It All Started with a Dream
A few crazy people had a dream back in September 2023: creating the first true Video Game Museum of France. But they never expected people will love it to this extent. Over 32,000 fans contributed more than a dime to the crowdfunding campaign which has so far raised 2.3 million euros and set three European records for itself!
A Gigantic 11,000 m² Wonderland
Odyssée won’t just be a museum — it will be a whole universe of fun. Covering a huge space of 11,000 square meters, it will include:
- The World’s Largest Video Game Museum
- A Japanese village with stores, food, and anime goodies
- A Game Center like the ones in Tokyo
- A Japanese food court, the first of its kind in Europe
- A gaming arena for tournaments, concerts, and events
It’s more than just a place to look — it’s a place to live and breathe games!
The Heart of It All: The Odyssey Museum ( Musée Odyssée in french )
Within Odyssée, visitors will find a 3,000 m² museum that is set to be one of the largest collections game consoles ever built. I mean one of the creators Ludovic Charles even has over 2300 consoles, with more being added each day. But not that boring type with dusty glass boxes. Walking through movie-style sets, you will experience 50 years of gaming history in front of your eyes and enter themed rooms where you can touch… Play…and Live games.
A Taste of Japan in France
Love Japanese culture? You’re in luck! In concert with this, the immersive Odyssée will showcase an entire Japanese Village complete with manga stores, card shops and figurines to indulge in! However, the real attention grabber is going to be at a sprawling 1,000 m² food court with over twelve Japanese fast-foodstuffs. The chef will be none other than the sushi world champion of Team France Sushi!
The Gaming Arena: Where the Action Happens
Like Large Level Events? Odyssée Gaming Arena is a functional space capable of hosting eSports, concerts and anime events. Built with the help of TF1, this stadium is going to be a huge crowd-puller for fans worldwide.
Built by the Fans, for Everyone
From day one, the project has been about the community. Fans helped fund it. Artists, collectors, and gamers joined in. Even the French President showed support! The city of Bussy-Saint-Georges, just 30 minutes from Paris and Disneyland, will be the home of this incredible place.
What’s Next?
Although the grand opening is not until 2028, they will throw special events and pop-up exhibitions as soon as this year.
